Svenja Greisert

My name is Svenja and I have been married to Sven Greisert since 2016. I originally come from Buxtehude, but moved to beautiful L√ľneburg with my husband and worked as a diabetes advisor in a doctor’s practice in Winsen. What I liked most about my job was that I could help people who were not well physically and often psychologically. Although I had a very nice life in Germany, I still didn’t feel in my calling.

I became a Christian at the age of 17. Even then my heart was beating for missions.Originally, I did not want to go to Africa, but God repeatedly spoke very clearly into my life in 2015 that I should go to Kenya. I decided to follow this call. Since 08 July 2018, I have been living in Nairobi (Kenya) and the contrast between rich and poor in this city of over 3 million inhabitants is enormous. But as contradictory as life is here sometimes, I am convinced that I am now in the right place.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Favourite Bible verse

The above Bible verse means a lot to me, as I was able to experience it first-hand. Before I became a Christian, I suffered from a deep emptiness in my heart. I tried to fill the emptiness with various things and people, but it always caught up with me. Over time, the emptiness became more pronounced and even led to me not being able to feel love. It felt like my heart was frozen or even petrified.

Since I consciously decided to become a Christian on 10.06.2007 and thus opened myself to God’s love, this emptiness disappeared completely and has not returned since. God has renewed my heart and gives me the ability to love anew every day. I will be forever grateful to Him for this.
