Many sex workers have never had an education or worked in their lives, but have slipped into poverty prostitution straight out of school. For these women to become employable, two preconditions must be met. On the one hand, the women must be trained to act morally and take responsibility, and on the other hand, they must complete vocational training.
In order to fulfil the first prerequisite, the Sisters for Hope conduct an ethics course. The main topics are work ethics, the consequences of lying, responsibility for one’s own actions and the consequences of one’s own actions.
After the ethics course, the SfH organise a training opportunity for the women. We either organise this training ourselves, working with partner organisations such as “https://coworkers.de/“, or we send the women to vocational schools in and outside Nairobi.
